As of July 1st, Ogilvy has strengthened its leadership team with the appointment of Martin Svetlík as Chief Creative Officer.

Over the past year and a half, Martin served as Executive Creative Director at McCann Prague, where he led the agency to the title of Most Awarded Agency of the Year at the ADC Czech Creative Awards. It was his second such success – in 2020, he received the same recognition along with a Grand Prix with his team at SYMBIO.

Beyond his achievements on the local scene, Martin is also credited with a Bronze Lion from Cannes and a Grand Prix from the Golden Drum festival in Portorož. He has collected over 90 industry awards and regularly serves on international juries such as Eurobest, D&AD, and Euro Effies. In the past two years, he was also named “Strategist of the Year” as part of the Agency of the Year rankings.

“We’re entering an interesting time in advertising. Soon, we won’t be needed for just doing ‘good work’ – as an industry, we have to quickly learn how to deliver truly innovative products again,” says Martin Svetlík. On his decision to join Ogilvy, he adds: “Strategically, Ogilvy is one of the strongest agencies on the market. But it needs to respond to the growing appetite for breakthrough ideas, which is clearly visible in the Czech Republic.”

According to Ondřej Obluk, CEO of Ogilvy, Martin’s arrival is a natural continuation of the recent changes the agency has made. Ogilvy has strengthened its client service team with Simona Lišková and Anastasia Sochneva, its strategy team has been led by Adam Špina since late last year, and Tereza Sabová recently took over the leadership of the social team.

“We’re able to build complex solutions for our clients, but you always need a strong creative idea at the core – one that excites everyone, including the client, to collaborate. And that’s exactly what we’re looking forward to from Martin and his team, with the full support of everyone in the agency,” explains Ondřej Obluk.
