We have an open culture so that people are not afraid to talk about their needs
Dora Grimová, Ogilvy's People Director, was interviewed by Marketing & Media to give a closer look at Ogilvy's latest benefits. One of these is the Ogilvy Lift program, which gives successful employees the opportunity to develop their own project on a part-time basis, while Ogilvy maintains their full salary. Linda Bui won the pilot with her handmade jewellery brand Rinni.
"We plan to hold Ogilvy Lift twice a year. As soon as the six months are up, another project gets a chance. We expect the next rounds to be easier. For one thing, the staff will have a better idea of what they're getting into, and for another, we'll have the processes and legalities ironed out. For example, we are also working out how the teams will operate without the potential winner, so that it doesn't affect the work for the clients," says Grimová.
The second benefit mentioned is My Day, which allows employees to take an extra day off each month. "We based this on a satisfaction survey where mental health came up as a common theme. An extra day off is one of the first steps to help," explains Grimová.
